About Us
The Inventor, Aimee Purcell
I am a stay at home mother of three, ages 11, 7, and 5. I've been home with the kids for 10 years. For me, being home with the kids (while my husband works two jobs) has definitely been the most rewarding and challenging job I've ever had! I never thought in a million years that I would be an inventor. It's amazing how much my life has changed since I became a mom. All of a sudden I found myself looking for ways to fix things or improve them!
I came up with the idea for The Chair Bib in April 2009, worked on a prototype for a couple of months then realized I needed to learn how to sew! I purchased my very first sewing machine in October 2009, watched the DVD and taught myself. But don't be too impressed, I still can't sew a button!
Before motherhood I worked as a comptroller for a commerial real estate developer. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in Business Management.
This is a picture of my (then) brand new chair, it was ruined from my son's booster seat! This photo is the reason I invented The Chair Bib. Don't let this happen to you! Protect your chairs, keep them looking new!
